Christmas is only 64 days away.  It may sound like a long time, but it’s not if you want a custom portrait painting delivered by Christmas.

From start to finish, a custom oil painting normally takes 30 days to complete.  During the holiday season, we prefer to receive orders at least 45 days in advance.  If we receive your order on or before the week of November 9th, we can guarantee you’ll receive your painting before Christmas.  Almost all orders received on the week of November 15th will be received on time, but we can’t offer a 100% guarantee.

If you order your painting between November 22nd and November 30th, it’s still possible to have it delivered by Christmas. It is only possible if you do not want the painting stretched.

Customers contact us all the time with a problem.  They want to have a painting done of several people, but they don’t everyone in a single picture.

Well, we can solve that problem as long as you have a picture of each person.  Below, is an example of a painting we completed several months ago.  The customer wanted a painting done of the entire family along with the grandparents.  They had several pictures, but not a single picture with everyone in it.

So, they sent us the four pictures below.

We took the four pictures and handed them off to our resident photoshop expert.  Our photoshop guru created the mockup below, and it was approved by the customer.

Our artist used the photoshop mockup as a guide and created the painting below.  The customer was thrilled with the result.

Over the past several weeks, we have been contacted by several customers of Everly Originals.

I’ll be honest, I’ve never heard of this company before.  Apparently, they sold their product and service through the Home Shopping Network.  You can view there product on the HSN website.

According to several people that have emailed us, Everly Originals went out of business and they never got the product they were promised.  These unhappy customers are hesitant to do business with us because they are afraid we will go out of business.

I would like to ease some minds.  One, we have no intention of going out of business anytime soon.  Although we are only two years old, we are a strong company with a stronger reputation.  Second (and most important), you will never have to worry about losing your money because we don’t charge you for the painting until you approve it and it’s sent.

One last thing, Everly’s product is “Unframed Gicleé Print”.  This is not the same as a hand painted oil painting.  A gicleé print is a print – it is NOT a painting.  We offer paintings that are completely done by hand.  Our prices may seem high compared to other services, and that is the reason.

We turned this older wedding photo into an oil painting.  Although our artist had to improvise with some of the finer details, the customer was still happy.

We just turned the beautiful photo below into an oil painting.  It is much easier for our artists to start with a beautiful photo than a poor photo.  You can see the oil painting below the original image.

This oil painting was rather large (36″ x 48″) so our artist was really able to paint the fine details.  In some cases, a small painting will not turn out as well because it’s difficult to paint the small details well.

In my last post, I showed you a painting I thought turned out better than the original photo it was based on.  Well, this is an even more dramatic example of how we can sometimes work magic and produce a painting that looks much better than the original photo.

In this case, the original photo was extremely dark.  Our artists did have difficulty with the hair because those details are impossible to see in the original photo.  We worked closely with this woman’s husband (it was a surprise gift) to get the details exactly right.

If you are thinking about turning a poor photo into a painting, please be advised that these aren’t normal results.  In many cases, we are not able to work with poor, blurry photos because our artist needs to see as much detail as possible to produce a great painting.  If you have a blurry photo and you want to know if we can work with it, just email the photo to us and we’ll give you a free consultation.

Sometimes, an oil painting looks even better than the original photo.  I think this is one of those cases.  This is a recent painting done of two brothers.

We are frequently asked if we do nude paintings.  The answer is “yes”.

We’ve completed several nude paintings, but for obvious reasons none of them are in our portfolio.  We recently completed a painting that is semi-nude and safe for work.  The first picture below is the original photo and the photo below that is a picture of the completed painting.
